University Community Church was planted on February 9, 2014 by Pastor Jimmy and his wife, Phionah. They felt a deep conviction that discipling students at the nearby Gulu University was key to spreading the gospel through the village of Gulu. Even more, they whole-heartedly believed this mission field would be essential in raising up Christ-transformed leaders who would be well-equipped to impact Ugandan families and communities (and, ultimately, the nations!) for the kingdom of God.
Then, in 2017, God's providence brought ECC and UCC together in a Gospel-centered, mission-minded partnership that spans the globe! We have helped UCC purchase land for a permanent facility near the University; founded the Shepherd the Flock Conference, which trains over 100 Ugandan leaders annually; and distributed over 5,000 theologically-rich books to bridge the resource gap. Now we are seeking to help UCC build a multi-use church building that will increase their capacity and reach for the Kingdom. Your prayers for this project are vital, and if you want to share financial support, give here.
